About us!
Just a little insight into us as Registered & Accredited breeders as well as just a family of dog enthusiast!
~ Mission Statement ~
Over the years it has been our goal to be transparent, ethical and genuine breeders in our field. We are committed to improving the health and the breed standards of the Australian labradoodle in a progressive and principled manner.
Raresilver Labradoodles believe in providing beautifully natured and healthy family dogs, with the most desirable traits possible. Along with educating families as much as we can when in regard to the breed, the breeding process and the dogs we raise.

How it started!
A little about ourselves,
We are Virginia & Dave Headley & have been breeding these beautiful dogs since 2003.
Our journey started in 2001 when we found ourselves looking for a low to non shedding family dog after the passing of our gorgeous Sammy Anne, a sweet Boarder Collie/Blue Heeler cross. We loved her dearly but we were over the hair all over us and the house!
After much research we came across a new developing Australian breed that was family friendly with a low to non shedding coat. They had a strange name but we loved the look of them & after meeting our first Australian Labradoodle a life time love affair was born.
We decided if we loved them others might to! We purchased our first Labradoodle, Tegan Park Raresilver (Miss Silvie) in August 2001 and spent the next 18 months learning all we could about dog breeding!

Our Foundation Girl!
Tegan Park Miss Raresilver
Our stunning founding matriarch Miss Silvie girl was a dream mummy and allowed us to to make mistakes, grow and learn as we went.
Her first litter was born in March of 2003 with us keeping Raresilver Chocolate (Miss Coco) and our Raresilver lines were on the way.
Joining the ALA & Mentors
In 2004 having realized we needed to meet & learn from other Labradoodle breeders we applied to become members of the LAA the Labradoodle Association of Australia (which went on to become the ALA the Australian Labradoodle Association) and have been Accredited Breeders ever since.
The mentoring, knowledge, support & friendship of fellow ALA breeders has been integral to our Raresilver Labradoodle journey. Their help has given us the knowledge and expertise in our breeding practice and keeps us to a level of quality and standard to ensure the puppies and dogs we produce are healthy and of excellent nature.
Many years of selective breeding by ourselves & some amazing ALA breeders have developed the Multi Generation Australian Labradoodles we breed today.
We are proud of our history, our wonderful mumma dogs and the the amazing Guardian family's we have worked with over the years along with our current Guardian families.
We are thankful to the generous ALA breeders who have shared their lines with us, in the form of stunning stud boys for our girls to honeymoon with and the wonderful families who have opened their hearts and homes to the many, many Raresilver puppies over the past 21 years. Your feedback, photos, love for our pups, your referrals to family & friends and then your return for 2nd, 3rd & even 4th Raresilver babies means the world to us.
Us now!
In 2020 we made the big decision to move from the beach to the bush, where our dogs and the family could enjoy the fresh open air and the country views. Here our babies get to spend their days running and playing in their field or sunbathing on the deck. They take to laying about on the cold slate floors or snuggled up in beds in front of the fireplace.
The property was a bit of a fixer upper when we first moved here but just like with our breeding program we are pouring our hearts and souls into it.
Another big change since we started in 2003 is that most of our current breeding girls live with their guardian families (their forever families) from a young age rather then with us and then retiring/rehoming to new a family. We have found that them living in their own family environment as normal pampered pets improves their quality of life before, during and after their pregnancies. Once they have completed their mummy duties and retired, they go on to do so with their beloved family members.
Our guardian program has shown to produce more adaptable, loving and sociable natured mummies which reflects in the puppies they produce.
Looking To The Future
Our focus will continue to be on improving the strength of our lines, the quality of the pups we produce and expanding our knowledge on the continuous evolution of sciences behind breeding, such as genetics and body conformation/ structure and temperament.

It is our mission to show the world how well natured, intelligent and fun loving the Australian Labradoodle breed is, along with providing strong, healthy and well bred family dogs.

With our son and daughter in law living and working on the property with us, the future of Raresilver Labradoodles is in good hands.
